Shamus Padraig Connolly appears in the novel, Patriot Games.
Biography[]
In the 1980s, Connolly served as the Ulster Liberation Army's inside source within the Provisional Irish Republican Army (PIRA) and works for Kevin O'Donnell. He meets with O'Donnell and Sean Miller at the training camp in Libya after Miller is recovered from Scotland Yard, where he tells them of Johnny Doyle's anger toward the ULA. He is last referenced as preparing to strike the PIRA leadership at the same time as O'Donnell and Miller's attack on the Ryan home. It is unknown if he succeeds.
