The M1126 Stryker is an eight-wheeled armored fighting vehicle used by the United States Army, and is orginally derived from the Canadian LAV III. The vehicle is named after two American servicemen who were posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor: Pfc Stuart S. Stryker, who died in WWII, and Spc4 Robert F. Stryker, who died in the Vietnam War.
In the Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 game, Captain Scott Mitchell is put in command of a Stryker that is operated by the Mexican Loyalists, but was given to them by the US Army.
The US Army began to field the Styrker in 2002 in eight variants and by the year 2014 the Stryker had been modified to mount a 25mm Bushmaster turret with a M2 machine gun on top of it.
